FUNCTIONAL ART IN WOOD, MADE TO ORDER
After retiring from teaching English in college, I entered the Fine and Creative Woodworking Program at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, North Carolina. I graduated with an Associates Degree in 2004 and set up my company, Sunburst Woodworks. I now live in Asheville, North Carolina. I have made many kinds of things for family, friends, and customers, many of which are displayed on this website. I welcome inquiries about my work and possible commissions. Most of the pieces shown here are customizable by design, size, and species of wood. For info about design styles that influence my work, click on "Design Influences" in the menu.
The prices for items in this website are approximate. They can change up or down based on the size of the piece, the cost of materials (mainly, the wood), and requests my customers make. I love working with North American species like walnut, cherry, maple, and oak. Exotic woods, like mahogany, are also beautiful but more expensive. Taxes (for North Carolina residents) and costs for shipping are in addition to these prices.
You can best see everything on this website if you have a full screen. The menu is at the top right. Click on the tabs to see photos and info about things I make. If the screen size is smaller, as on a cell phone, the menu is accessible on the top left. Tap the three bars and the table will come up.
